This record, titled We make the weather; A series of possible soundtracks made with tropical instruments and with the intention of creating an atmosphere that implies the existence of a complicated situation, is composed of six pieces. Some of those have their own titles (Overexposed Sunset, We make the weather, 1979) and some others don't; but more than being related to a specific sound the function of those captions are to help give specifics about that intented atmosphere.
The recordings were produced on the occasion of R.R. and the Expansion of the Tropics, an exhibition by Mario Garcia Torres at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, where they are played intermittently throughout the show along the soundtrack of a film shot in Captiva Island, FL, and which only contains location sounds.
